Prodir is the Swiss choice when a giveaway shouldn’t feel like a throwaway pen. A practical starting quantity is 500 pieces – where quality, unit price and visibility come together. As a guide: from around CHF 1.60 each with a 1-colour logo – depending on model, material and quantity. Including the one-off setup charge of CHF 83.– per colour/design for printing plates. We calculate exact prices from your configuration.
Printing methods, packaging & timing
We offer 1- to multicolour pad/screen printing, printing on soft-touch surfaces and laser engraving on metal clips . Pens normally come in boxes of 50/100 (outer cartons of 500/1’000), with optional PS cases or poly bags – also personalised. Shipping within the invoice country is included for one delivery address; extra addresses or express shipping cost more.

Cloud services with a dynamic QR code
QR codes work surprisingly well on Prodir pens when done right. We print your code with strong contrast and enough clear space, and test it 1:1 before production. Ideal for landing pages, contact cards, feedback forms or tracking with UTM parameters.
Best practices for QR codes on ballpoint pens:
Destination & link: Use a short HTTPS URL or a dynamic QR code (changeable link later). Consider tracking with UTM .
Size: On the clip at least 9–10 mm, on the barrel because of its curve, 12–14 mm per side. Bigger is always better.
Clear zone: Leave at least ≥ 4 modules clear around the code (no lines or icons).
Contrast: Dark on light (not an inverted QR). Matte/soft-touch surfaces scan better than high gloss.
Error correction: Level Q or H (25–30 %), so minor distortions or wear are tolerated.
Printing method: Pad printing for small, precise QR codes; screen printing for larger areas. 1 solid colour, no gradients.
Placement: Choose the flattest possible areas or on top of the clip where possible. “Scan me” helps as microcopy.
File handover: Vector PDF/EPS, with the QR embedded (not linked as an image). Include a 1:1 PDF proof.
Test: Before approval, scan with several mid-range phones in normal light (at arm’s length).
Alternatives: Also put the QR on a PS case/insert (20–25 mm) for easier scanning.
Note on laser engraving: Engraving a QR code only makes sense if it creates a clear light-dark contrast (e.g. a coated metal clip with a lighter exposed area). Otherwise, printing is better.
