Clubs and sponsors: planning clothing and printed materials

Clothing, banners and printed materials for your club. Plan quantities, sponsor logos, approvals and repeat orders with a direct point of contact.

A sports club planning sponsor boards, a team renewing its clothing or a festival organising its entrance needs consistent materials. This page outlines ways to work with clubs and organisers. Paid work, material support and communication partnerships are agreed for each project. Published references can be found in our projects.

Why work with clubs?

Team clothing, banners and signs make a club visible. Direct contact with the workshop helps coordinate logos, artwork, deadlines and repeat orders. The aim is to create useful materials that the club can reorder easily.

A lasting relationship must work for both sides. Agree the work, budget and any reciprocal commitments before starting, without promising a quantified advertising outcome.

Three ways to work together

Here are three options to discuss according to the project and available resources. They do not automatically entitle an organisation to a discount or sponsorship:

  • Material contribution: Support may cover part of the materials or printing. Agree its value, included work and remaining charges in advance.
  • Regular orders: Ready-to-use artwork and shared planning can simplify repeat orders. Terms reflect the volume and actual work, not an automatic discount.
  • Event coverage: A project story or post may complement a collaboration if both parties want it. Confirm content, permissions and timing; reach is not guaranteed.

The first conversation clarifies needs, budget, dates and the intended duration. A one-off order does not require a special partnership.

Material support

Need a vector version or a refresh of your club logo? See the guide Logo design and redesign for small businesses.

Sponsor boards are one possible type of material for a club.

An ongoing project may combine sponsor boards, team clothing and site signage. Separate ordinary supply from any support contribution. Materials, printing, artwork preparation and installation should be priced clearly; cost-price supply is not promised without an agreement.

For help preparing that discussion, see the guide Material support for clubs. A specific collaboration is published as a reference only after agreeing which information and images may be shown.

Repeat orders

For repeat orders, retaining approved artwork and material references makes preparation easier. The quote specifies included work, quantities and reorder terms.

Planning example: new sponsor boards for a season, replacement clothing and a few welcome signs. Combining requirements can avoid repeated preparation. Any saving or special term is confirmed in the quote, without a preset percentage.

Businesses considering support for a club can also read Supporting a club as a small business.

Event communication

For a festival, sports event or anniversary, a post can show the materials produced and explain the project. The people, brands and organisers involved must approve what is made public. Any communication service is defined separately.

For planning the event materials, see our guides Outdoor festival signage and Public screenings and sports events.

Examples of project needs

These are examples of possible requirements. They do not mean every organisation mentioned has a current sponsorship arrangement:

  • Sports clubs: Sponsor boards, team clothing, banners and signs. Prepare a list of logos and required approvals.
  • Pumptracks and bike parks: Sponsor displays, entrance signs and site instructions. Safety information must be approved by the responsible people.
  • Ice hockey clubs: Rink-side boards, clothing and entrance directions, according to the venue and branding permissions.
  • Floorball clubs: Clothing, indoor sponsor boards and match schedules. Prepare club crests for the selected medium.
  • Holiday activity programmes: Welcome signs, arrows and banners. A simple system makes reuse at later activities easier.
  • Outdoor festivals: Flags, bar graphics, stage backdrops, directions and stickers. Prioritise materials that help the visitor journey.
  • Public screenings: Banners, sponsor displays, schedules and directions. Coordinate with site requirements and screening permissions.
  • Neighbourhood and village events: Entrance, bar and sponsor signs. Plan a simple identity that remains readable across different materials.
  • Cultural groups and music societies: Concert banners, roll-ups and event notices, with reusable artwork for future dates.

For published examples of our work, see Our projects. A published project does not by itself establish a current sponsorship agreement.

Agreeing the partnership boundaries

Clear boundaries prevent misunderstandings. Clarify these points before entering an arrangement:

  • Materials rather than cash: Describe the actual printing, clothing or signage need. A request for support is not acceptance of funding.
  • Regional connection: State the location and connection with Central Switzerland. Delivery elsewhere and local sponsorship are separate questions to discuss for the project.
  • Responsible organisation: Specify who orders, approves and pays. Rights to use the logos must be clear.
  • Project purpose: Explain the event or activity. A commercial order and a support contribution are separate decisions.
  • Connection with our services: Define the materials to be produced. The club’s other financial needs are not part of a print quotation.
  • Advance planning: Contact us before the deadline and state which approvals are still needed. Feasibility and scheduling will be confirmed, without an automatic decision deadline.
  • A specific enquiry: A short introduction with materials, quantities, budget and deadline helps more than a general request without a defined need.

Enquiry and next steps

Send your enquiry to [email protected]. These details help us prepare a useful response:

  • Official club or organiser name and region
  • A short description of the event or project
  • Required materials: clothing, banners, signs, flags or stickers
  • Deadline and whether the requirement is one-off or recurring
  • Event location and club base
  • Existing sponsors or partners, where relevant

We then clarify the work, budget and dates. Any support contribution is recorded separately. Publishing the project requires agreement from the people concerned.

Frequently asked questions

What budget should we allow for materials?

It depends on materials, quantities and finishes. The quote separates materials, printing, preparation and any installation. No standard discount is deducted without agreement.

What terms apply to repeat orders?

Terms depend on available artwork, quantities and required work. A previous order does not automatically guarantee the same price for a different configuration.

How does event coverage work?

We agree content, channels, permissions and timing. Reach or enquiry numbers cannot be guaranteed.

When will we hear back about support?

Timing depends on the project and available information. State your deadline at the outset; do not commit spending on the assumption of unconfirmed support.

What about a project outside Central Switzerland?

Tell us about the project and location. Orders, delivery and support partnerships are assessed separately; special terms are not automatic.

Can I also order for my business?

Yes. Identify the correct customer and keep club and business orders separate, with their respective quotes and invoices.

What if the agreement needs to change?

Contact us as soon as possible. Changes to quantities, dates or reciprocal commitments must be discussed and confirmed; they do not automatically change an existing agreement.

How should we prepare an enquiry?

Describe the actual requirements, quantities, budget and dates. Include available logos or artwork and explain what still needs approval.

Planning materials for your club or event?

Send the organisation’s name, required materials, quantities and deadline. We will clarify feasibility and how to work together.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How quickly do you deliver?

Production times are shown on each product page. Contact us to arrange express production or a specific delivery date.

Delivery by post or freight carrier, or collection by appointment. Costs depend on the product, volume, weight and delivery method and are shown in your basket or quote. Bulky goods and freight shipping are charged separately.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Small quantities are possible, for example sticker sheets from 5 pieces. On-demand production and small runs let you test an idea without holding stock.

Custom print orders generally include a setup charge of CHF 35.- including VAT per order. This charge does not apply to designated club merchandise and Brand-on-Demand products.

How can I pay?

In our online shop: TWINT, credit card or Apple/Google Pay. Payment by invoice is subject to approval. For larger projects, advance payments can be arranged.

Which print files do you need?

PDF/X-4 (recommended) or AI/EPS; alternatively PNG/JPG (300 dpi). CMYK, fonts converted to outlines, 2–3 mm bleed; contour cuts on a separate path.

Print marks are not needed — we have to remove them manually. A basic file check and proof approval are included in the setup charge. Our graphic design service can prepare your print files if needed.
